Benefits of Paint Protection Film

If you care about your car’s paint job, you should get a paint protection film. There are more than 276 million vehicles across the country. Each one had a new paint job before being sold. Paint makes a car look nice and new while protecting the car. Your vehicle spends a good portion of its life out in the elements. This exposure can lead to rust and other damage. With a good paint job, your car has an extra barrier between its crucial parts and the elements.

Adding a paint protection film can increase that barrier and keep your car looking and functioning like new for a long time! Check out all the great benefits of protective car film for any vehicle below.

Increases Life of Paint Job

Getting a car paint job can be an investment, both in the time it takes to get done and the money it costs. It’s not something you want to have to redo often. The paint seems like an integral part of any car; it becomes something you don’t even think about. Paint can have an extremely long life as long as it’s properly maintained.

So many wonder how to maintain car paint. And that’s where paint protection film comes in. This invisible film can be placed on several different areas of your car, like the hood or doors. Once on, your paint job is fully covered, but no one will even know!

In addition, the film protects against chips and scratches that can happen throughout regular use. Also, the protection film has UV filtering properties that keep the paint from fading or discoloring after prolonged sun exposure.

Adding a protective car film can be the step you need to keep things looking fresh.

Reduces Needs for Washing

One of the most attractive parts of new cars is how shiny and fresh their paint looks. This makes them look expensive and luxurious, regardless of its type of vehicle. Over time, the shine begins to fade. To keep that new car shine, you have to wash your car frequently, even spending extra time and money waxing it to bring out the luster. Our paint protection films do a thorough job of repelling the dirt, dust, and grime that gets kicked up onto cars as they drive.

If some dirt does manage to stick to the film, it can easily be wiped away instead of needing a complete wash. This reduces your car maintenance time significantly and with better results. The best part is that the paint underneath is pristine and will always shine!

Scratch Protection

While these are annoying cosmetic issues, scratches can also lead to bigger, structural problems if they aren’t taken care of properly. The best way to do that is to add the protective film and prevent all minor imperfections altogether. Cars are primarily made of metal, and scratches can lead to rust if left out in nature for too long. This rust weakens the metal leading to many more serious problems. When your car begins to get these imperfections, it can be a snowball effect. The problems continually grow and increase in severity. It’s important to take care of things before they become these big problems.

Paint Protection Film works to protect your paint from the damage caused by door dings, rocks, debris, or winter salt. There’s no match for its protective power!

Maintains Resale Value

Resale value is important to keep in mind if you don’t plan on keeping the car until it’s no longer functioning. As a car ages, the amount of money that it’s worth decreases. Many factors go into determining this number from the number of miles driven and the quality of the car. Luckily, there are things you can do to slow the decrease in value.

Keeping the condition of the car’s paint as nice as possible will help keep the resale value as high as possible. One way to do that is to add car paint protection.

When people purchase a car, even a used one, they want it to look as nice as possible, and the paint is a very important part of that first impression. Having paint protection film installed will do a great job of keeping it looking pristine!

Saves Money Over Time

Just like with many things in life, putting a protective film on your car is an investment that will pay off over time. Repairing or redoing a car paint job isn’t something many people want to spend their money on. Not to mention the logistics of figuring out how to be without your car for a few days. These are the exact reasons preventive measures are crucial. Though it’s an investment up front, installing paint protection film is much less expensive than completely redoing the paint after a rock chip or door ding scratches. After you get the film installed, it’s unlikely that you’ll ever have to deal with your paint job again.

When you weigh the pros and cons of what could potentially happen without the protection, paint protection film is always worth it.

F.A.Q.

A virtually invisible urethane film. Our paint protection film protects your vehicle’s paint from unsightly damage and maximizes re-sale value.

Here are some of the most common myths, misconceptions, and commonly asked questions we get at Tucson Tint Company.

Can The Film Be Waxed?

While you can wax the film, be sure the product you are using doesn’t contain Naphtha or Kerosene in concentrations over 5%, and avoid waxes that contain dyes. For best results, we recommend using our XPEL Flawless Finish Paint Protection Film Sealant or XPEL Ceramic Boost. These products have been specially formulated for use with polyurethane paint protection films to provide maximum protection and gloss while containing no ingredients that would cause discoloration over time.

Can I Use Detailing Clay On The Film?

Yes. The process is the same as with regular paint: wet the surface with a lubricant such as XPEL Detail Spray or soapy water and then gently rub the surface with the clay bar. For stubborn insect, bird dropping, or hard water stains, use an all-purpose degreaser such as Simple Green as the lubricant for the detailing clay.

Can XPEL Film Be Applied To Chrome?

Any of our films can be installed on Chrome, though the finish will look slightly different than if left unprotected. We recommend having your installer apply a small swatch to the desired surface so you can see what it looks like before deciding.

How Deep Of A Scratch Can Film Still Heal?

The clear coat is the self-healing layer and is approximately 13 microns thick. If that layer is penetrated, the film will not heal.

Can I Run My Car Through An Automatic Car Wash?

Yes, but please wait at least 48 hours after installation to allow the film to dry completely.

Can I Use A Pressure Washer, And How Soon After Install?

Yes, pressure washers can be used on XPEL paint protection films, provided the film has completely dried after installation (typically 48 hours) and provided the high-pressure water is not pointed directly at the edges of the film.

Can I Have XPEL Installed Over My Vinyl Wrap Or Racing Stripes?

Yes. XPEL film can be applied over a vinyl wrap or graphics. However, if there are any hard edges that the film must cross (as in the case of stripes), it could result in some air being trapped along that edge.
