Types of Automotive Tint

DYED

Reduce the sun’s glare, enhance visibility & reduce eyestrain.

The most affordable style of tint, our dyed films stop 99% harmful cancer-causing UV rays & achieve the privacy you desire in your car. Our dyed films contain no metalized particles, ensuring your tinted windows don’t interfere with radio, cellular, or Bluetooth signals. The color of our dyed films remains the same over the years and never fades or turns purple.

HYBRID

Higher heat rejection with a slightly more reflective finish.

Offering better heat rejection than traditional dyed films, our hybrid window film features an enhanced reflective finish. Although our hybrid film line contains a metalized layer, it has been specifically formulated to not interfere with radio, cellular, or Bluetooth signals. Our hybrid window film is a perfect marriage of value and performance.

CERAMIC

Keeping you comfortable and protected no matter the weather.

In the past, keeping cool meant choosing a darker shade of tint. Combining a cool look with extreme performance, ceramic tint is more effective than hybrid or dyed films. Our ceramic lines of film contain a blend of ceramic particles acting as a solid barrier to infrared heat without reducing outbound visibility or interfering with radio, cellular, and Bluetooth signals.

Benefits of Automotive Tint

Automotive window tint in Tucson isn’t just about keeping a low profile anymore. There are purely aesthetic reasons for tinting your car. Tinted car windows look cool, like celeb-style sunglasses for your car. However, the privacy, security, UV protection, heat rejection, fuel economy improvement, and glare reduction tint provides in one of the United States’ sunniest cities can’t be ignored.

Privacy

One of the most well-known benefits of window tints is that you and your passengers can enjoy more privacy while driving. Tinted windows prevent (to a certain degree) people from outside of your car and other drivers from looking into your vehicle. The window films installed on a car can give you more privacy while driving around town. Tinted windows prevent (to a certain degree) people from outside of your vehicle and other drivers from looking into your car. Depending on your desired privacy, you can increase privacy by selecting films that prevent others from looking in during the daytime.

Security

Depending on the percentage of your window tint, visibility of your car’s interior to an outsider is greatly diminished. This lowered visibility is the most obvious advantage of window tinting. The increase in privacy also gives you more safety and security. When your car is parked, individuals can’t spot valuable items and possessions as easily, making your vehicle less of a target for smash-and-grab thieves in passing. Most car thieves will not break into a car unless they’re sure of the payoff. So, tinting your windows can prevent break-ins and protect you from encounters with dangerous criminals.

UV Ray Protection

Prolonged exposure results in damage to the skin such as skin burns, darkening of the skin, premature aging and skin cancer. While untinted windows do filter out some of these rays naturally, they still allow a large percentage of UVA and UVB rays through your car’s windows. In fact, research shows 53% of skin cancers and 74% of melanomas in the U.S. occur on the left side (read: drivers’ side) of the body. This means there’s a huge link between untinted car windows and skin cancers. Tinting your vehicle’s windows can reduce your risk of skin cancer and protect your body from the harmful effects of long-term exposure to the sun. Car window tinting can block up to 99% of the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays that can accelerate skin aging and cause skin cancer. Even clear window film or a light tint offers UV protection that can block out both damaging UVA and UVB rays. For people who drive for extended periods, window film protection provides a critical advantage to safeguard against this risk.

Reduced Interior Heat

With 350+ days of sunshine a year, Tucson is one of the United States’ sunniest cities. Every day from May to October, Tucson gets to at least 70 degrees. One-hundred-degree weather occurs typically from May to September in Tucson, with about half the days in June and July getting that hot. If you’ve ever burned your legs on a hot seat or broke out in a sweat just trying to start your car, window tinting can make a car up to 60% cooler. Untinted glass only filters about 30% of solar heat. Even on the hottest of Tucson days, you can enjoy stepping into a cooler car with tinted windows.

Improved Fuel Economy

You’re doing some research on tinted windows. By now, you probably already learned tinting your car windows can make a significant difference in the temperature inside your car. Tinted windows naturally cool down your car; they also help improve your fuel economy. Running the AC in your car can quickly drain your gas tank, especially if you run it often or on high. Since your air conditioning won’t have to work so hard to keep your car cool, window tint helps you save money on fuel at no cost past the purchase you make at Tucson Tint Company.

As a result, you will feel much better when you get inside your car and won’t have to pay that much for fuel either.

Cut Glare from Sun

One of the most annoying things that can happen when you drive is having to deal with glare. Especially if you have forgotten your sunglasses at home, glare can deteriorate your driving experience and even make you more prone to accidents. Window tint will stop most of the glare coming from the sun, allowing you to see better while driving. You’ll be able to discern traffic signs, oncoming vehicles, and pedestrians easily. Even if you forget your sunglasses, tinted windows will make your driving experience a lot safer.

F.A.Q.

With so many window tint films available, making the perfect choice for your vehicle has never been easier. From the latest, top-of-the-line nano-ceramic, high-performance metallic hybrid, and even traditional dyed window tint options, there’s a film for every application. It outperforms other types of tint to keep you comfortable and protected. All Tucson Tint Company Window Tint is backed by a lifetime transferable warranty.

Here are some of the most common myths, misconceptions, and commonly asked questions we get at Tucson Tint Company.

What do the different levels of film mean?

Film percentages stand for light transmission, or the amount of light that is allowed through the film. The lower the percentage, the darker the film.

Do I need to wait to roll my windows down?

We recommend that you leave your vehicle windows rolled up for at least 48 hours after window film has been installed. This allows the film to cure and adhere to the glass before the window is moved.

Can window film be matched to vehicle factory window tint?

In most cases yes, depending on how old the film is and whether or not a color stable film was used.

What can I clean the windows with?

Once windows are tinted, wait a week before cleaning them. Cleaning them too soon can mess up the tint before it fully dries. After they are tinted, your windows will have been wiped down, but will likely need proper cleaning with a soft paper towel and non-ammonia cleaner after 7 days. Not recommended to use “Windex with Ammonia-D” or blue colored cleaners. We suggest vinegar Windex (green) or any citrus Windex. Another option is soap and water, vinegar and water, or anything without ammonia or abrasive cleaners.

I can buy window film for $29 at the local auto parts store. Why should I pay Tucson Tint Company to tint my vehicle?

Great question with 2 equally great reasons why you should leave it to a professional.  First of all, like everything else, all window tint is not created equally.  Tucson Tint Company uses only top quality window tint which, typically is more expensive than the tint offered at most auto parts stores.  This is why we are able to offer a warranty on both the film and our labor.  Secondly, tinting is hard!  Some might call it an art! It takes a special talent that most do not have.  One of the primary reasons that people get tint is to enhance the appearance.  The last thing that you want is a blotchy, bubbled end product because you let your neighbor/friend/cousin/classmate do the installation.
